Laurie (they/them) is a Musician Songwriter and Vocal Coach who has worked in the music industry for the past decade. They have collaborated with many incredible artists and on various projects in their career so far. When they’re not drumming, they continue to write and produce music as well as performing as a backing vocalist for other artists.

They were formerly managed by Elton John’s Rocket Music before the Liquidation of the company in 2019.

They also were one of the founding members of vocal group, Flames Collective who have performed on many stages including Glastonbury 2023 alongside Raye.

Prior to Laurie joining Drum Works, they performed as part of the samba band Novo Bloco from 2009 – 2011.

Laurie first found Drum Works while attending Sarah Bonnell secondary School in 2013. There they quickly became an active member of the project. In 2015, Laurie joined training band and later became part of the semi-professional band, Drum Heads. After leaving full time education in 2016, Laurie started working for Drum Works as an assistant and has since become a tutor and continues to work and progress as a facilitator and leader.

Laurie’s main focus is to create great music and inspire those like themself to do the same. They are extremely passionate about creating opportunities and opening up space for young, Black, POC and LGBTQA+ people to be seen and heard as musicians and creatives in the industry. They hope to start their own Music mentoring scheme for young people in the near future.
