After studying English Literature at Cardiff University, and failing to make it as rock star with Cardiff’s best AOR band, Eight Miles High, David embarked on a career in insurance. He joined Lark in 1988, and was appointed Director in 2007. David is currently Managing Director of the Private Client Division, looking after the personal insurances of some interesting and high profile individuals. With responsibility for all aspects of personal insurance at Lark, two days are never alike and his work includes business development, staff development, performance management and client work.
Currently, a major part of David’s focus is working to develop Lark’s niche Musical Instruments insurance business, where they have a global brand, and currently insure over 100 of the remaining 600+ Stradivari, as well as all sorts of other instruments (including drums!).
David also heads up the Charity work at Lark, and is a keen supporter of the musical arts. As a business, Lark provide a scholarship for the Royal College of Music, as well as sponsoring the London Sinfonietta and the Endellion String Quartet amongst others.
Outside of work, David plays the drums in a rock band and a funk band, and enjoys spending time with his family.
