Ella is a freelance violinist and workshop leader, having studied at Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance and at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama respectively. Trained as a classical violinist, Ella has performed all over the world in orchestras and chamber ensembles, as well as recording studio and album sessions for artists including Katie Melua, Kwabs and Jamie Abbott.
Ella works regularly as a workshop leader and has worked with a number of eminent ensembles and arts organisations including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra (VYC Programme), Aldeburgh Young Musicians, the Barbican Centre and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
Ella has been involved with Drum Works for around 10 years and works as a tutor in Morpeth School and Raine’s Foundation School, where she really enjoys working with all the students and creating new music with them. Through Drum Works Ella has also had the opportunity to perform in several high-profile shows, including performing with Ludovico Einaudi at the Hammersmith Apollo and as part of the cast for Barbican’s Unleashed. She was also one of the drummers in the London 2012 Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
