Ella is a freelance violinist and a drummer, and recently graduated from the Leadership Masters programme at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Trained as a classical violinist, Ella has performed all over the world in orchestras and chamber ensembles, as well as recording studio and album sessions for artists including Katie Melua, Kwabs and Jamie Abbott.
Ella works regularly as a workshop leader and has worked with a number of eminent ensembles and arts organisations including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra (VYC Programme) and the Barbican Centre.
Drumming and percussion have always been a huge passion for Ella and she has been involved with Drum Works for around seven years, where she started as a member of Drum Heads. Still a member of that ensemble, she is now also a Tutor for the Drum Works project and really enjoys working with the young people at Sarah Bonnell School and Morpeth Secondary School. Through the Drum Works project Ella has had the opportunity to perform in some high-profile shows, including performing with Ludovico Einaudi at the Hammersmith Apollo and as part of the cast for Barbican’s Unleashed. She was also one of the drummers in the London 2012 Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
